Ceremonies Crafted for You

At In Safe Hands
I bring a wealth of experience from my background in education, care, and support services. Having worked with individuals facing complex life challenges - including mental health struggles, addiction, domestic abuse, and bereavement through suicide -  I've developed a deep understanding of people’s unique life journeys.

In addition to being a trained celebrant, I'm also an end-of-life guide, sometimes known as a (Death Doula) offering compassionate, practical, and emotional support to those nearing death and their loved ones. This work has deepened my ability to hold space with empathy, calm, and confidence - even in life's most tender moments.

My professional training includes Mental Health Awareness, (ASIST) Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, Drug and Alcohol Support, and Domestic Abuse Awareness.  These foundations equip me with the sensitivity, flexibility, and care needed to craft ceremonies that honour every story - in life, in love, and in loss.

If you are looking for someone who brings heart, sparkle, and soul to your special day - someone who truly listens and makes every word count - then let's make some magic together. Your story deserves to shine.

FUNERALS & CELEBRATIONS OF LIFE

LOVE STORY WRITING & WEDDING PLANNING

Every great love deserves a great telling. Whether you want a ceremony that makes people laugh, cry (or both!) - or a written keepsake to treasure forever - I'll help shape your story into something unforgettable.

An Inclusive Message for Every Ceremony

As we come together to honour this meaningful moment in your life’s journey, know this: At In Safe Hands, everyone is welcome. Gentle, compassionate end-of-life support in Dundee and surrounding areas. As a death doula and celebrant, I offer presence, guidance, and dignity for you and your family.

Gentle, compassionate end-of-life support in Dundee and surrounding areas.

As both a Death Doula and a celebrant, I offer presence, guidance, and dignity for you and your family when it matters most.

Facing the end of life can be overwhelming - for the person themselves and for those who love them. A death doula offers comfort, clarity, and companionship through every step.

What is a Death Doula?

A death doula - sometimes called an end-of-life doula - is a trained, non-medical companion who supports someone approaching the end of life, and their loved ones, with emotional, practical, and spiritual care.

Unlike medical professionals who focus on treatment, a death doula focuses on the human side of dying: creating comfort, holding space for important conversations, and helping ensure wishes are honoured.

What Does a Death Doula Do?

Emotional support - gentle listening, exploring fears, hopes, and memories.

Practical guidance - advance care planning, simple rituals, and helpful checklists.

Companionship - being present, reading aloud, or sitting quietly so no one feels alone.

Family Support - guidance and reassurance for loved ones before, during, and after death.

Benefits of a Death Doula

A calmer, more peaceful environment.

Less fear and uncertainty for everyone involved.

Personal wishes heard, recorded, and respected.

Consistent support across the whole journey.

Gentle care for grief and remembrance afterwards.

If you or someone you love is approaching the end of life, you don't have to navigate it alone.

I'm here to walk beside you - offering comfort, guidance, and a steady presence every step of the way.

Choosing the right celebrant can make all the difference when saying goodbye. Here's what to look for - and why it matters more than you think.

When someone you love dies, you're suddenly expected to make decisions no one ever prepares you for. And you're expected to make them fast.

One of the most important - but often overlooked - decisions is: Who will lead the ceremony?

Can I choose my own funeral celebrant?

Yes.

Even if your funeral director gives you a name, you don't have to go with whoever they suggestYou have the right to choose someone you feel comfortable with. Someone who will reflect the tone, beliefs, and personality of the person you are saying goodbye to.

What does a celebrant do?

A celebrant leads the funeral or memorial service - but not in a scripted formal way. A good celebrant will:

Sit with you and listen.

Learn about the person who has died.

Help shape the tone of the day.

Write and deliver a ceremony that feels real and personal.

What to look for in a funeral celebrant

Here are some signs you've found the right one:

They listen more than they speak

They make you feel safe, not rushed

They don't rely on a generic script

They reflect your beliefs and values

You feel like you can trust them with this moment

Why it matters

You only get one chance to say goodbye

The right celebrant will help you honour your person in a way that feels true - not just formalities, but real meaning.

That matters. More than most people realise.
