Every life deserves a personal, meaningful farewell that truly reflects the person being remembered. I'm Susan Paul, an independent funeral celebrant serving Dundee, Perth, Angus, Fife and across Scotland. Every funeral ceremony is written from scratch, around your loved one's life, personality and values. Whether your planning a cremation, burial, memorial or celebration of life, I'll help create a ceremony that feels personal, comforting and authentic.

How Can I Support You

Need to Speak to me today?

If you've recently lost someone and would like to talk through your options, please don't wait for an e-mail reply.

Call me directly on 07984710623

If I'm with a family or conducting a service, please leave a voicemail or send a text and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Losing someone you love can feel overwhelming and knowing where to begin isn't always easy.

If you'd rather speak than e-mail, I'm always happy to have an initial conversation with no obligation. From our first conversation until the day of the service, I'll support you with kindness, compassion and care.

Every service I create is written from scratch to reflect the unique life, personality and values of the person being remembered. Whether you would like meaningful readings, favourite music, hymns, prayers, moments of reflection, or a completely non-religious service, I'll create a farewell that feels personal, authentic and comforting.

Funeral Celebrant in Perth
Families across Perth and Perthshire trust me to create funeral ceremonies that are personal, meaningful and written entirely around the person being remembered. Whether the service take place at Perth Crematorium, a church, graveside or another venue, I'll work closely with your funeral director to create a fitting farewell.

Funeral Celebrant in Dundee

Based near Dundee, I regularly support families throughout Dundee, Broughty Ferry, Monifieth, Carnoustie and the surrounding areas.

Every funeral ceremony is individually written, taking time to understand the person behind the memories. Whether you would like a traditional service, a celebration of life or something that reflects the life your loved one lived and the people who loved them.

I work closely with local funeral directors and families to ensure every detail is handled with warmth, dignity and compassion.

Funeral Celebrant in Angus and Fife

I also work with families throughout Angus and Fife, including Forfar, Arbroath, Brechin, Montrose, Cupar, St Andrews, Kirkcaldy and the surrounding areas.

Every family is different, and every farewell should be too. Whether your ceremony includes hymns, favourite music, personal stories, moments of reflection or a completely non-religious approach, every ceremony is thoughtfully written to reflect your loved one's life and values.

No matter where your ceremony takes place, my aim is always the same - to create a meaningful farewell that feels genuine, personal and comforting for everyone attending.

Working With Funeral Directors

If you've already chosen a funeral director, they'll usually contact me on your behalf. Once I receive your details, I'll be in touch to arrange a convenient time for us to meet.

Most families choose to meet in the comfort of their own home-  but I'm equally happy to meet at a funeral home, community venue or another location where you feel comfortable.

I'll work closely with both you and your funeral director throughout the process, ensuring every detail is taken care of with compassion, professionalism and dignity, allowing you to focus on what matters most - remembering your loved one.

Here to Support You

Every family is different, and every farewell should be too.

Whether you're planning a traditional funeral, a contemporary celebration of life or something entirely personal, I'll help create a ceremony that honours your loved one's life and reflects the memories you hold most dear.

From our first conversation until the day of the ceremony, I'll be there to guide and support you with kindness, patience and understanding.

Our meeting image
When we meet, I invite you to bring along anyone who might wish to contribute - people who knew your loved one well and can help paint a fuller picture of their life and character.

Often this includes close family and friends. If someone can't attend, they're welcome to share memories or reflections by email. Just let me know in advance so I can include their words.

There's no need to prepare anything in advance. It can help to think about stories, quirks, habits, or sayings - the little things that made your loved one uniquely themselves. My role is simply to listen and gently guide the conversation, helping me understand who your loved one was beyond dates and milestones. I understand this is a tender time, and I'll approach our conversation with care, patience, and respect.

What We'll Talk About

Together, we'll talk about the memories, people and moments that made your loved one unique.

You might share:

Their passions and hobbies

Favourite places and music

Family traditions and holidays

Their sense of humour and what made them laugh

Their work, interests and achievements

The people and moments that mattered most to them

The little quirks and everyday moments everyone remembers

Every story you share helps me to create a funeral ceremony that truly reflects the life, personality and values of the person you're remembering.
Planning the Ceremony
During our meeting we'll also talk through the practical details of the funeral ceremony, including music, hymns, readings, poems and whether family or friends would like to take part.

Together we'll create a funeral service that feels personal, meaningful and true to the person being remembered, while offering comfort to everyone gathered to celebrate their life.

On the day of the service, I'll arrive in plenty of time to greet you, liaise with the funeral director and ensure everything runs smoothly before delivering the ceremony with warmth, professionalism and compassion.

Ashes Internment and Scattering Ceremonies
Many families choose to hold a separate ashes internment or scattering ceremony after the funeral.

Whether you'd like a quiet family gathering or a larger occasion to celebrate your loved one's life, I can create a personal ceremony that provides another opportunity to remember, reflect and say goodbye in a meaningful way.
